Intention over Perfection, again

Girl Meets Fire

Buen Dia Reader

I started the year with a goal of sending you weekly themed emails, and your response has meant a lot to me. Those El Corillo deep dives into ingredients, techniques, and Puerto Rican food culture are some of my favorite things to write, and I am picking them back up.

I will be honest with you: running Girl Meets Fire as a solo creator is a bit like a sculptor chipping away at stone. Always testing, always imagining new projects and ideas, always learning as I go. Some weeks, the momentum is strong. Others, life takes the front seat. I moved back to Puerto Rico to be closer to family, and that comes with its own beautiful, demanding rhythms.

If you go back and read the El Corillo email I sent in January — the one about intention over perfection — you will see that this moment is a perfect example of exactly that. The intention was to send these themed emails regularly, to deepen your kitchen culture and connection to Puerto Rican food. Life had other plans for a bit. But here I am again, with the same intention, because you enjoy them and, honestly, because I do too.

Thank you for being part of this. I hope you have a great rest of your week, and always know you can reach out to me with any recipe questions or requests.

Hasta entonces!

Zoé
